About Marquelynn

Marquelynns' artistic journey is an exploration between art and nature shaped by her educational background and her diverse experiences.

She received a BFA from Swain School of Design and an MAE from Rhode Island School of Design cultivating her perspective as an artist. Her origins in the western states of Colorado and Wyoming, coupled with her work on an archaeological dig in England, have enriched her understanding of landscape and history. This background fuels her passion for capturing the spirit of place, the passage of time, and the human impact on the environment. Marquelynns' intent delves into the essence and mystery of nature.

" My chosen medium is the ancient art of Encaustics, itself made of natural ingredients of beeswax, tree resin, and earth pigments.  From this molten wax I create layers, carve into the surface, and imbed natural objects.  I continue to explore new materials and techniques pushing boundaries to create pieces that invite viewers to appreciate the relationships between art, nature, and spirituality.  I hope to encourage a deeper reflection and connection to our natural world."
